The Havening®
Reset Intensive
More time. More impact.
A dedicated, focused experience in emotional resolution for those ready to move beyond what’s been holding them back.
You’ve done the work.
You understand your patterns.
And yet-something still lingers beneath the surface.
This is where that changes.
We can’t always talk ourselves out of a trauma…and sometimes it’s from so long ago. We may know why we act and feel the way we do…yet it’s like a tiny pebble in our shoe we can’t get out.
Havening Techniques
Havening Techniques ® can be described as a type of psycho-sensory (touch) technique based on the fields of neuroscience and neurobiology which uses sensory input in order to alter thought, mood, and behavior.*
Havening is designed to make changes in the brain in order to remove, from both the psyche and the body, the emotional memory of a traumatic or stressful life event and its negative effects.
It uses touch and other sensory inputs to change the brain and reduce emotional distress from traumatic or stressful events
It aims to remove the emotional memory of trauma from the psyche and the body and prevent psychological disorders such as PTSD, anxiety, and phobias
It works by increasing serotonin production in the brain and creating a soothing effect that detaches from the painful memory.
FAQ’s
-
Our first session will be to discuss in detail the issue you would like to work on. We will go over the Client Agreement for Havening Services, and you will have time to ask all of your questions so you feel comfortable about the process. We will also determine the type of Havening Touch you feel comfortable with; provider facilitated or self-Havening. I will then guide you thru your Havening Session targeting undesired experience/emotional state.
-
Three simple touches; the palms of your hands, upper arms and/or face.
These touch points can be facilitated by me as your provider. Session set is client-centered and thoughtfully designed to reduce any discomfort.
All three touch points can be used at any point in the session, or a focus on a preference is just fine.
Participants have described the touch as “soothing therapeutic” and is a crucial component to encoded emotional recalibration in our brain.
-
Absolutely not. Havening is 100% effective either in-person, or using a virtual platform. Self-application of the havening touch, also known as Self-Havening, is fully effective. Self-Havening allows for you to feel increase autonomy during the process, and is actually a critical part of your healing journey; as a means to build confidence and muscle memory as you continue building your personal resilience and positive neuroplasticity outside of sessions. Self-havening allows for virtual visits and for healing in your own comfortable and safe environment.
Havening is designed to quickly and effectively take a traumatic experience and release the traumatically encoded components so it becomes just another memory. What that means is that specific memory will not activate the entire physiology of fight/flight/freeze when a person encounters a stimulus similar to one in the traumatically encoded experience. It will no longer burn out the adrenal system (panic) or cause the person to reach for food or alcohol, etc, to soothe their nervous system because of the impact of that earlier trauma.
So the individual is back in a place of empowered control.
This is not about rehashing your story.
it’s about how your nervous system holds it.
WHAT is an INTENSIVE?
The Havening Reset Intensive was intentionally designed for individuals seeking a more focused, efficient and immersive therapeutic experience than what traditional weekly psychotherapy often allows.
This is not psychotherapy. Havening sessions consist of a specific formulated treatment technique specifically designed to target encoded memories in our brain. Intensives are purposely lengthy to provide time and focused attention; and unlike psychotherapy, is not designed to be indefinite.
An intensive allows more focused time, without the interruption of insurance controlled 50-minute sessions.
The Havening Reset Intensive means less time in the “therapy” office, and more time moving forward in your life!
High functioning, capable, and often “the one others rely on”
